The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
 

Position Summary

The Admissions Counselor will work closely with the Associate Director of Admissions to uphold and strengthen the integrity of the admissions process from application through enrollment for the Mailman School of Public Health’s growing set of offerings. The Admissions Counselor screens applications and updates recommended decisions for the specified programs. Will meet and counsel prospective applicants in-person and/or virtually on application process throughout the school year. Maintain and update using common application system (WebAdmit) and Columbia’s Student Information System (SIS). Assist with corresponding with prospective applicants, applicants and newly admitted students via School Inbox on CRM (Slate). Support events of the Office of Enrollment Management as needed.


Responsibilities

  • Meet with prospective applicants and guide them through application process virtually and in person

  • Assist with recruitment events through visits on and off campus, colleges and universities, organizations and agencies to better ensure a strong and diverse prospective applicant pool.

  • Other related admission duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years related experience as well as Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience required
  • Experience counseling and recruitment in a university setting preferably at the graduate or professional school level
