The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Academic Administration and Finance, the incumbent provides administrative and clerical support to the Department of Slavic Languages . The incumbent communicates, both verbally and in writing, with individuals at all levels, including students, faculty, scholars and visitors; refers non-routine inquiries to appropriate staff or faculty.


  • Processes transactions in ARC, FinSys, and Concur including paperwork including paperwork for purchasing; processes invoices; oversees and tracks cash receipts; prepares bursar deposits; processes work-study and casual payrolls; tracks and distributes paychecks; trains, delegates tasks, and coordinates schedules for student employees; manages the FRAP program; arranges travel for department members and visitors; coordinates requests to Facilities for maintenance of department space; orders and maintains computer equipment; oversees maintenance and service contracts for department equipment; maintains and coordinates audio-visual equipment usage; performs and delegates photocopying and scanning; oversees collection and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail; performs or delegates deliveries on and off campus.


  • Maintains student and faculty directories and databases; maintains departmental online calendar; maintains departmental website and various listservs; coordinates adjunct faculty and student offices; monitors key distribution; assists in assuring daily security of, and access to, department and faculty offices; schedules faculty and student meetings; coordinates room scheduling, publicity, and refreshments for departmental events; processes payments for special lectures and other departmental events.


  • Monitors and replenishes supply inventories and refreshments; performs other related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Two Years of Related Experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of University Setting
  • Some College Preferred

Other Requirements

Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office, Email, Scanning, Basic Internet Search
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills required. Ability to work in a busy department office serving faculty, administrators, and students with confidentiality, patience, and tact, and the ability to manage concurrent projects on varying deadlines with minimal supervision required. Excellent proofreading skills necessary. Strong attention to detail required
