Position Summary
The laboratory of Dr. Jennifer Danielsson in the Department of Anesthesiology is seeking a full-time research technician to help with ongoing basic science projects. Our main area of research focuses on investigating the role of calcium-activated chloride channels in the treatment of asthma and acute bronchospasm. Our lab is a small highly collaborative group, and the technician will work closely with the PI.
Responsibilities
- Overall, the technician would be responsible for carrying out active experiments with guidance from the PI and research team
- Specific responsibilities include maintaining cell cultures, performing immunoassays such as ELISAs and Western blots, in vivo and ex vivo mouse experiments, processing tissue samples and data maintenance and analysis
Minimum Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in cell culture and cell biology assays
- Experience with experiments with tissue and mice
- Computer and writing skills
- Most importantly – enthusiasm for basic science research and ability to learn techniques in a team environment
