Project Officer Columbia World Projects Manhattanville
Columbia World Projects (CWP) is an initiative intended to better connect Columbia University with the world at large where laws and policies are made, actions taken, and norms and attitudes are shaped. CWP will facilitate the application of academic research and scholarship in the context of efforts to address fundamental challenges in our home city, around the nation, and across the globe. We do this in large part by developing and implementing projects – in partnership with practitioners from government, nongovernmental and intergovernmental organizations, the private sector, and other entities – to test promising cross-disciplinary innovations in the field, while also seeking to enrich research and scholarship. The Project Officer will serve as a senior member of the team working to conceptualize, design, and develop projects for CWP focused on addressing the themes of CWP Fora, which are held three to four times a year on a distinct challenge, such as cybersecurity, expanding access to energy, and improving maternal health. The incumbent will work collaboratively on matters related to project ideation, design, and development within CWP, across Columbia’s schools and disciplines, and with partners from a diverse range of fields and institutions beyond the University.

Columbia World Projects (“CWP”) is an initiative intended to better connect Columbia University with the world at large where laws and policies are made, actions are taken, and norms and attitudes are shaped. CWP will facilitate the application of academic work in the context of a broader, global discussion to address fundamental challenges in our home city, around the nation, and across the globe. Reporting to the Director, Finance and Administration, the Business Manager is responsible for overseeing CWP initiatives that advances project goals and facilitates smooth operational functioning. Initiatives will vary depending on organizational needs and can include developing new protocols and internal policies, enhancing or developing new services that function to support project and academic initiatives, and supporting talent management initiatives.
Short-Term Casual Columbia World Projects Manhattanville
Columbia World Projects seeks to hire a Short Term Casual - Program Assistant to perform various administrative duties and is charged with creating a welcoming and responsive office culture dedicated to the highest level of customer service. The Program Assistant reports directly to the Assistant Director of Human Resources and Administration who will coordinate with CWP staff to generate assignments and tasks. The position will last approximately 4 months or no more than 560 hours (whichever comes first).

The Associate Director will report to and support the Director, Project Management in ensuring that local, national and global CWP projects are fully implemented within the time frame negotiated with project partners.
