The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
 

Position Summary

This internship supports the day-to-day operations of the Climate School Career Management team while providing opportunities to make a meaningful impact on the student experience. Responsibilities include posting job opportunities, preparing event spaces, assembling speaker materials, coordinating catering, welcoming employers and guests, and supporting career events.

Beyond these core responsibilities, interns are encouraged to take initiative, identify opportunities for improvement, and help develop solutions that better serve students. Whether streamlining event logistics, improving communications, or enhancing internal processes, interns who are curious, resourceful, and proactive have the opportunity to shape how we work and strengthen our career programming.


Responsibilities

  • Produce our weekly newsletter, the “Monday Momentum,” a roundup of events, curated internships, and timely career advice 
  • Post jobs and events on our career platform (12Twenty) and LinkedIn group 
  • Conduct desk research on promising fields and industries to inform our employer outreach 
  • Create (or source and curate) resources to aid students in their career exploration 
  • Keep employer contact information clean and current across 12Twenty and Mailchimp 
  • Identify opportunities to improve, streamline, or automate our processes, and build templates where helpful 
  • Review resumes and cover letters, run mock interviews and provide constructive feedback 
  • Set up event registrations, promote to students, handle check-in, and track attendance 
  • Set up rooms, assemble swag bags, escort guests, and handle catering and package pickups from The Forum reception 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a graduate degree program at Columbia University or Teachers College at a minimum of 6 credits per semester 
  • Strong written and spoken English 
  • Detail-oriented, especially with data 
  • Comfortable with Google Workspace, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Canva, and Zoom. Pluses: pivot tables, VLOOKUPs 
  • Able to handle sensitive information confidentially and sign an NDA
  • Ability to represent the School professionally through reliable, courteous, and respectful interactions with students, employers and campus partners.
