Position Summary

The Development and Alumni Relations Coordinator is an integral member of the College of Dental Medicine’s Development and Alumni Relations team and plays a key role in advancing the College’s philanthropic priorities through donor engagement, alumni relations, fundraising support, and advancement operations. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Development and Alumni Relations, this position provides an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to gain broad, hands-on experience across multiple facets of advancement within an academic health setting.

Working closely with the Associate Dean and Director of Alumni Relations, the Development and Alumni Relations Coordinator supports a broad range of fundraising and engagement initiatives, including annual giving, donor stewardship, prospect management, alumni programming, and special development projects. The individual serves as a key partner in cultivating and strengthening relationships with donors, alumni, volunteers, and other stakeholders while ensuring the effective coordination of activities that advance the College’s fundraising and engagement goals.

The coordinator serves as a steward of donor and alumni information by maintaining accurate constituent records, managing database updates, tracking fundraising and engagement activities, and preparing reports and analyses to support advancement strategies and informed decision-making.


Responsibilities

  • Support annual giving and fundraising initiatives by coordinating outreach activities, donor communications, stewardship efforts, and campaign-related projects that advance the College's philanthropic priorities.
  • Plan and coordinate donor, alumni, and volunteer engagement events, including cultivation and stewardship gatherings, reunions, alumni programs, advisory committee meetings, and other activities designed to strengthen constituent relationships and encourage giving.
  • Support the maintenance of donor and alumni records within the constituent relationship management database (Uproar), ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of biographical, engagement, and giving information.
  • Prepare fundraising reports, donor lists, and data analyses to support donor cultivation, stewardship, annual giving, prospect management, and strategic decision-making.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus two (2) years of related experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and interact diplomatically with senior leadership, donors, and volunteers.
  • Experience working with databases.
  • Experience working at a nonprofit or within a higher education environment.
