Reporting to the Senior Vice Dean in The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS), the Senior Associate Dean of Undergraduate and Graduate Student Affairs is responsible for managing the design, implementation, and administration of programmatic efforts to support student academic affairs and academic administration in SEAS. The Senior Associate Dean provides leadership in matters of undergraduate and graduate academic affairs, policy and exceptions, and serves as the chief liaison with offices that jointly serve Columbia College and SEAS. The Senior Associate Dean advises SEAS regarding admissions, advising, judicial affairs and general student issues; oversees the academic requirements and degree progress in liaison with the departments for all graduate student programs; has oversight of all matters pertaining to the delivery of academic programs, materials and updates for the school at large. Provides leadership in matters relating to student advancement and program enhancement at all levels including academic program delivery, admissions and retention, student life and student wellness. Research Assistant, Clinical Dept of Biomedical Engineering Morningside
The Ultrasound and Elasticity Imaging Laboratory (UEIL) in the Department of Biomedical Engineering is dedicated to the advancement of novel noninvasive ultrasound techniques for the treatment of neurological disorders and other diseases. The grant funded research assistant will be working for two clinical trials (protocol numbers: AAAS5163 and AAAS5953) at Ultrasound Elasticity Imaging Lab (UEIL) at Columbia University. Responsibilities include assisting the screening of Alzheimer’s and pediatric diffuse midline glioma (DMG) patients, treatment planning (simulations, calibrations etc.), assist with focused ultrasound (FUS) procedure to enrolled patients over the course of treatments, and data analysis (cavitation signal processing for treatment monitoring, MRI scans, CT scans, etc.) after treatments. The clinical research assistant will also help with managing protocols and correspondence with the IRB and the FDA. The clinical research assistant will work as part of the Blood-Brain-Barrier (BBB) group and clinical group at UEIL and will report updates from both clinical trials and research findings at group meetings.
